What to Do If You Can’t Pay Your Tax Bill

If an individual can’t pay a tax bill in full by the April 15, 2024, due date, there are ways to ease the burden. The taxpayer may be able to enter into a written agreement with the IRS to pay the tax in installments. Plans include a short-term installment agreement of up to 120 days to pay in full if less than $100,000 in combined tax, penalties and interest is owed. The options available depend on the amount owed and an individual taxpayer’s tax filing compliance history. Certain taxpayers who’ve filed all required may set up a plan using the IRS’s online payment agreement tool. Contact us with questions or visit: https://bit.ly/3v8VZSy . © 2024
