Jeffrey J. Potter, CPA, Director, Core Services Group, has more than 30 years of diversified experience providing accounting, tax, wealth management, and consulting services to individuals and closely held businesses. Prior to joining Cg Tax, Audit & Advisory, Jeff was a founding partner of Potter & LaMarca LLP, a widely respected CPA firm with offices in Staten Island, New York and Red Bank, New Jersey.
A Certified Public Accountant licensed in both New York and New Jersey, Jeff specializes in the construction, real estate, and restaurant industries. Jeff holds a Life and Health Insurance Producer’s license with the State of New York, as well as Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations. He has successfully completed the AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement (CEA) program in Personal Financial Planning.
Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) , as well as past president and current member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is a past chairman and member of CPA Connect, a national network of CPAs. Jeff also leads the firm’s Contractors Accounting Division and is the CPA for The Building Industry of New York City (BIANYC).
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from St. John’s University. He currently resides in Middletown, New Jersey with his wife, Laura. They have raised five children and have five grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys bicycling, golfing, and family time.
