Jon Mendoza, is a professional at Cg, a Springline company, providing audit and assurance services to clients across a wide range of industries. He is involved throughout the audit process, from engagement planning, risk assessment, and staffing to supervising fieldwork, reviewing workpapers and financial statements, and ensuring financial statements are presented in accordance with applicable professional reporting standards. Jon works closely with clients and management to identify and resolve accounting and auditing matters and support their ongoing audit and assurance needs.
Jon has particular expertise in complex accounting matters, including significant accounting estimates, business combinations, lease accounting, convertible debt, consolidations, and intercompany accounting. He also specializes in technical accounting research and memo preparation, risk assessment, and financial statement presentation and disclosure. His experience includes evaluating accounting policies, reviewing GAAP presentation and footnote disclosures, and preparing financial statements for private companies under U.S. GAAP.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Jon is passionate about coaching and developing team members. He supervises and trains staff throughout engagements, helping team members strengthen their technical skills and gain experience navigating complex accounting and auditing matters. He also supports engagement partners with quality control, client service, and final report issuance.
Jon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA). He earned an Associate degree in Liberal Arts of Business from Middlesex County College and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Monmouth University.
Outside of work, Jon enjoys boxing, playing basketball, working out, hiking, and spending time with his family.
