The On-Time Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)

A valuable one-time federal tax credit is available through 2025 to employers looking to hire new workers. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) encourages employers to hire from certain groups that face employment barriers. Targeted groups include veterans, qualified recipients of specific aid programs, ex-felons, qualified long-term unemployment recipients and certain summer youth employees. Employers must certify the eligibility of new hires. The certification process includes filing a form with a state workforce agency with information about an individual they wish to hire. This must be done within 28 days of the new hire’s start date. Here’s more about the WOTC: https://bit.ly/3UsqbBo. Contact the Cg Team with questions© 2024
