CARES Act Provider Relief Fund Update

Many healthcare providers have now received funds in their bank account as part of the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund.

Remember that this is the distribution of $30 billion in grants to healthcare providers as part of the fund authorized by the CARES Act. These are payment, NOT LOANS and have no repayment obligations.

Healthcare entities eligible for these payments include any providers that received Medicare fee-for-service payments in calendar year 2019.

You are now required to attest to confirm receipt of the funds and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the payment. You have 30 days to attest from the date of receipt. Click here to visit the website. You will need to have your taxpayer identification number and bank account number available to complete the attestation.

Please remember that as a condition of receiving these funds, providers are obligated from abstaining from “balance billing” any patient for COVID-related treatment.

Providers receiving more than $150,000 total in funds under the CARES Act, the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act have a reporting requirement each quarter on how the funds have been utilized.
