Taxpayers who itemize deductions at tax time can still deduct qualified charitable donations to tax-exempt organizations. But before you donate, the IRS warns, verify that the recipient is tax-exempt. For that purpose, the IRS has created a tool that lets people obtain information about tax-exempt status. The tool, called the Tax Exempt Organization Search, can be accessed using smartphones and tablets. Among other things, it informs taxpayers whether an organization can receive tax-deductible contributions. Here’s the link. © 2019
