December 31 is the deadline for completing many important tax-related actions. For example: foreign and other taxpayers using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to file and pay taxes may need to renew their ITINs; individuals involved in divorce proceedings must wrap-up their divorce agreements if they want to protect their ability to deduct alimony they pay; and taxpayers planning to take advantage of the 2018 annual gift tax exclusion need to complete those gifts. © 2018
