Important Information Regarding Your 2020 Tax Return

In light of recent developments from the IRS and Treasury Department, we want to convey to our clients the importance of providing your Cg tax professional with your tax return documentation or any business-related information as soon as possible so we may begin working on your return sooner rather than later, and have the return completed by April 15, 2021.

If you have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and require additional assistance, please let us know so we can help.

Per recent announcements, the IRS and Treasury Department will automatically extend the federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year from April 15, 2021 to May 17, 2021.1

Please note that this extension applies only to federal income taxes, it DOES NOT apply to estimated tax payments due on April 15, 2021. Those payments must be made by April 15, 2021.

Regarding New Jersey and all other state filing and tax payment deadlines, we anticipate each state will have their own legislation.

We expect additional guidance from the IRS and will continue to keep you updated. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to Cg with questions.

Thank you, as always, for being a valued member of our Cg family.
