As an accomplished and visionary leader, Deb brings a wealth of accounting and tax experience to Cg. Since joining the firm in 1996, her proven track record of driving strategic growth and innovation for the firm will be instrumental in steering continued market leadership and industry success.
Donald A. Cowan, CPA, PFS, PSA, CFP® founded the firm in 1982 along with R. Joseph Gunteski, CPA, CFF. For more than 40 years, Don has led Cg as managing director, growing the company exponentially by helping clients maximize profitability and achieve financial goals.

In Deb’s previous role as shareholder of Cg’s Healthcare Services Group, she focused on advising physicians and other professionals on financial, tax, and operational matters. Healthcare providers throughout New Jersey hired Deb to advise them in the formation of their practices, including business entity selection, implementation of practice management and accounting systems, bank loan negotiations, development of fee schedules, and retirement plans. Deb also consulted with established practices considering mergers, recruitment of new physicians, expansion into new market areas, and ancillary service offerings. Area hospitals have engaged Deb to value physician practices for potential acquisitions.
Deb is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA). She was also selected in 2021 to join Chief, an exclusive membership network focused on connecting and supporting female executive leaders. Additionally, Deborah is secretary for the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, board chair of the Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation, and treasurer of CPC Behavioral Healthcare’s Board of Directors. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Loyola University.
