Until recently, large employers (generally with 50 or more full-time employees) that provide workers with minimum essential health care coverage were required to furnish them with proof of coverage once a year. However, an alternative method is available as part of the Paperwork Burden Reduction Act. Instead of providing individual statements to all employees, employers may now post a clear and obvious notice on their websites instructing workers to request a statement if they want one. Statements for the 2024 tax year must be posted by March 3, 2025. Your organization may fulfill employee requests with electronic statements.
