How to Avoid Common Mistakes During Tax Time?

The IRS began accepting 2023 tax returns on January 29th. Before we prepare your return, here are some common mistakes to avoid that could save you time and effort. While you may want to get filing over, wait until you’re certain you have all your tax reporting documents. These include Forms 1099 and W-2, donation receipts and other substantiation. Check to make sure that your Social Security number (SSN) is accurate, matches the name on your Social Security card and your name is spelled correctly. Make sure the bank account number you provide is correct if you opt for a direct deposit refund. Finally, check to make sure you provided us with your expenses. Contact us with questions.© 2024
