“The One, Big, Beautiful Bill” Clears the House Budget Committee

After a second vote, the budget reconciliation bill, dubbed “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” cleared the House Budget Committee. The House Rules Committee will now establish the rules governing the debate and vote on the bill by the full House of Representatives. The bill could see additional changes before reaching the House floor. One sticking point is that the Congressional Budget Office hasn’t yet officially scored the bill, meaning the cost of the bill is unknown. On May 14, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimated that the bill would “boost total deficits through FY 2034 by roughly $3.3 trillion.”  Contact the Cg Team with questions. © 2025
