New Jersey has a voluntary compliance program for unclaimed property holders. Business entities that aren’t compliant with the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act can participate in the Voluntary Compliance Program (VCP) as an alternative to a potentially more arduous and costly full compliance audit. The benefits of the VCP include the removal of all late penalties if the entity successfully completes the program. The entire VCP must not take more than 180 days, from the date of the finalized voluntary disclosure agreement to the time unclaimed property is reported. © 2019
