Cowan, Gunteski & Co., P.A.’s Stephen Reed Joins Rowan University Accounting Advisory Board
Tinton Falls, NJ, March 10, 2017 – Stephen Reed, CPA, PSA, CGMA, managing director of Cowan, Gunteski & Co., P.A.’s Monmouth County office and shareholder-in-charge of the firm’s manufacturing and distribution services group, has joined Rowan University’s Accounting Advisory Board which provides an external perspective on curricular development, and advises on emerging trends in the practice and development of accounting. Accounting Advisory Board Members are nominated by the faculty and selected by existing board members.
A cum laude graduate of Rowan University, Stephen’s impressive industry knowledge and practical experience have allowed him to consistently help his clients maximize savings, achieve goals and create wealth for almost 30 years. At Cowan, Gunteski & Co., P.A., Stephen provides comprehensive services that include all facets of accounting, tax, audit and management consulting, especially financial statement analysis and reporting, cost segregation studies, profitability enhancement and business succession planning.
Stephen is a member of the NJ Business & Industry Association, the Association for Operations Management, the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, the Northeast Spa & Pool Association, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the Eatontown Industrial Park Association, Fuel Merchants Association of New Jersey and the Oilheat Association of South Jersey. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and NJ Society of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Florida.
Stephen currently serves as a member of the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, vice president of the Ocean County Private Industry Council, and is on the board of the Ocean County Workforce Investment Board and numerous other Chambers of Commerce and nonprofit organizations. He is a co-founder and past president of the Corporate Resource Alliance, an organization dedicated to providing complimentary services to businesses. He is also a past president of several other business and nonprofit organizations.
Stephen has been a keynote speaker for numerous businesses, professional and civic organizations, and, most notably, was the featured speaker at a national CPAmerica International annual conference. Stephen has been honored as “Citizen of the Year” on three different occasions by various organizations. He was also named “Business Person of the Year” by the New Jersey Future Business Leaders of America.
